• Avan has extensive experience as a consultant engineer, founding F&R after realising an ever increasing demand for a high quality engineering service in Façade and Remedial engineering. From the beginning of his career, Avan has always been focussed on providing technical solutions to the most challenging and complex designs to his clients. Avan provides his partners’ leadership in engineering excellence, offering customised cost effective solutions that are practical and optimal. Avan’s expertise spans across a diverse range of projects spanning across various sectors and industries. This includes low rise and high rise residential projects, demolition and civil work, state of the art buildings, entertainment precincts, hospitals and state government infrastructure work, including tunnels and motorway projects. As Director, Avan brings leadership and expertise to ensure his team continue to deliver clients advanced and pragmatic, solutions based consulting with a high level of customer service. Avan and his team collaborate closely with clients and building contractors to ensure the delivery of a quality and customised F&R strategy which accommodates for various factors including site and time constraints as well as meeting stringent building codes and other legal requirements.

Director

• Danny began his career as a project manager after graduating from UNSW with a Bachelor of Engineering. At an early point in his career, Danny was able to develop a unique style by integrating his training and intricate knowledge as an engineer with his management style as a project manager. During this time, he was able to build and refine this unique and balanced skillset, allowing him to advance as an expert in structural and waterproofing failures, producing specialised reports identifying defects, and the developing appropriate rectification methods. Danny success has been realised by his ability to combine his technical knowledge of engineering design and methodology with his “real world” experience in consulting. His strong attention to detail and expert knowledge of building methodology allows him to offer and deliver successful expertise in the remediation projects across a variety of different sectors. Danny’s expertise also extends to façade engineering, having been involved in numerous highly successful recladding and of façade system designs. His experience has widened his technical knowledge in the façade sector including new builds. Danny’s ability to provide tailored design for each project is highly regarding in the industry and he continues to develop his understanding and technical skills in the ever evolving construction industry.

• Firas Abdulwahab, a seasoned civil engineer with an extensive 20-year career spanning both Australia and international arenas. Façade Engineer

• Dr. Otayek is an accomplished academic with over 25 years of experience in designing and managing projects all over the world, including in Lebanon, Canada, Australia and the Gulf Region. Drawing from his impressive background in academia and research, Dr Otayek has joined the F&R team providing expertise in the structural design of various elements. His area of expertise includes the design of façade elements using different material strengths and design applications. Dr Otayek combines advanced technological systems and methodologies to generate efficient structural designs which meet efficiency and constructibility requirements. In addition to his long list of qualifications and research publications, Dr Otayek has an impressive membership including being a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and having acted as faculty advisor for the ASCE-USEK Student Chapter at USEK University; is a registered Professional Engineer with OIQ syndicate (Quebec, Canada); EGBC (Engineers & Geoscientists British Columbia, Canada, P.E.). is a member of Engineers Australia EA (Chartered Status - CPEng); and an affiliate of the OEA (order of Engineers and Architects - Lebanon).
